Rules.

  The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), except as any of these are altered by this Notice or the Sailing Instructions.

  RRS 40.1 will be changed as follows: All competitors are required to ware a life jacket or other personal flotation devise while racing.

 

Eligibility and Entry

The regatta is open to all current members of the Moore 24 Class Association.

Eligible boats may register by completing the entry form and mailing the form and payment to Hood River Yacht Club  PMB 147, 2149 Cascade Ave. Suite 106A Hood River OR, 97031. or in person at the Cascade Locks Marine Park on Friday 7/31 from 5:00 to 7:30pm. Last minuet registration will be accepted Sat 8/1 prior to the competitors meeting. Please do not mail in entries after July 27th.  

 

Fees

 Entry fee is $70 per boat. This includes entry for Saturday and Sunday racing and one dinner ticket for Saturday night. Additional dinner tickets may be purchased with fee TBA

 Moorage fee at Cascade Locks Guest Dock is Free

 Moorage fee at Hood River Guest Dock is Included in the reace fee.

 

Schedule of Events

Friday 7/31 5:00-7:30pm. - Registration at Cascade Locks Marine Park.

Racing will be held August 1st and 2nd.

  Saturday's racing will be held in the vicinity of Cascade Locks and will be conducted by the Columbia Gorge Racing Association in conjunction with their Columbia Gorge One Design Regatta. First warning on Saturday is 12:00PM. Please refer to the CGOD Notice of Race posted at www.cgra.org for more information. No need to register with CGRA. Registration with HRYC includes Saturday's racing in Cascade Locks. The last race of the day on Saturday for the Moore 24 fleet will be a downwind distance race beginning in the vicinity of Cascade Locks and ending in Hood River. A dinner party is scheduled for Saturday night in Hood River after racing at the Hood River Yacht Club.

  The scheduled time of the first warning Sunday is 1130 hours.

 

Launching and Logistics

Boats will ramp launch in Cascade Locks. There may be a hoist available but plan on ramp launching. It is advisable to bring your outboard as it is usually necessary to motor from the ramp to the guest dock. A shuttle van will be scheduled to run from Hood River to Cascade Locks Saturday morning prior to racing to transport those wishing to deliver their trailers to Hood River. The scheduled time for departure of the shuttle from Hood River is TBA. Should the wind not be favorable for the distance race, Sundays racing will again be held in the vicinity of Cascade Locks. Moorage in Cascade locks at the guest dock free. It may get crowded so plan on rafting up. Bring extra fenders as needed. Camping is available at the Cascade Locks Marine Park. Boats will ramp retrieve in Hood River. Moorage in Hood River is $10/night. Payment is made at the Guest Dock.

  Long term dry storage is available for boats wishing to stay in Hood River for the week and return for the world famous 2nd annual Double Damned race August 8th. Moore 24's took first, second and third last year and set the bar for elapsed time. This is a must do event.
